Hire Smart is seeking a Medical Biller Professional to join its administrative team.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Medical Biller to manage patient billing information and ensure accurate processing of medical claims.
Key Responsibilities:- Claims Preparation and Submission: Accurately prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies, ensuring timely and efficient processing.
- Patient Communication: Communicate with patients regarding their outstanding balances and provide clear explanations of their bills, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Payment Tracking and Follow-up: Monitor payments, follow up on delinquent accounts, and establish payment arrangements with patients to minimize delays and maximize revenue.
- Billing Software Management: Maintain and update billing software, ensuring all patient information is accurate and up-to-date, and that system performance is optimized.
- Claims Appeal and Resolution: Investigate and appeal denied claims to maximize reimbursement for services provided, while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Documentation and Compliance: Prepare invoices and document amounts due for medical procedures and services, adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, accounting, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in billing software and electronic medical records (EMR).
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients and other stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to multitask effectively, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and optimize productivity.
$60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on location and experience.
