Position Summary:

The Labor Relations Lead is responsible for overseeing employee relations and ensuring full compliance with Dominican labor laws within a fast-paced BPO environment. This role will lead efforts in conflict resolution, disciplinary action, and legal compliance while fostering a positive and productive workplace. The role also acts as a liaison between employees, leadership, and external authorities such as the Ministry of Labor.

 

Key Responsibilities:

● Handle employee relations matters, including formal complaints, disciplinary actions, and workplace investigations, in compliance with Dominican labor law.

● Ensure consistent and lawful implementation of HR policies and procedures related to

employee conduct, absenteeism, working hours, termination, and benefits.

● Provide guidance to managers and supervisors on the correct application of Dominican labor law, with a focus on terminations and disciplinary procedures.

● Manage internal investigations related to harassment, misconduct, or non-compliance, ensuring documentation and resolution.

● Represent the company in meetings or conciliations with the Ministry of Labor, especially in cases of labor claims or inspections.

● Ensure appropriate employee file maintenance for legal compliance (e.g., signed

contracts, disciplinary letters, payment records).

● Conduct regular training for leaders on labor compliance, workplace ethics, and employee relations.

● Collaborate with legal counsel on labor disputes, dismissals, and legal consultations

when needed.

● Monitor key labor KPIs such as attrition, absenteeism, complaints, and workplace

climate indicators.

● Stay updated on changes to DR labor legislation and recommend adjustments to policies accordingly.

● Partner with HR Business Partners, Payroll, and Legal to support business continuity

while minimizing legal risks.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong knowledge of Dominican labor law and employment regulations, including

dismissal procedures, severance calculations, and Ministry of Labor processes.

Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and compliance

Audits.

Excellent written and verbal communication in Spanish; intermediate to advanced English preferred for reporting and international alignment.Proficient in Google Workspace (Preferred)High ethical standards, discretion, and a strong sense of confidentiality.Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with tight deadlines Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Law, Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business

Administration, or a related field.

At least 3–5 years of experience in labor relations or employee relations within the BPO or high-volume service industry.Fixed Salary: RD$70,000 up to RD$80,000
