With 200+ interpreters, multilingual staff, and over 200 languages available, Multilingual provides comprehensive services including interpreting, translation, training, software engineering, and contact center solutions. Operations run 24/7, offering global partners continuous access to language and business support. Role Description This is a full-time remote role for Recruiting Medical Interpreters (Remote Medical Interpreters) for Spanish-English OPI (Over-the-Phone Interpreting) and VRI (Video Remote Interpreting). Day-to-day responsibilities include performing real-time medical interpretation between Spanish and English for patients, healthcare professionals, and administrative staff in a variety of clinical and hospital settings. The role involves accurately conveying medical information, following established interpreting protocols, and maintaining confidentiality according to HIPAA and company policies. Team members will use company-provided platforms and tools to join scheduled and on-demand sessions, document completed assignments, and collaborate with coordinators to ensure consistent service quality. The position may also include occasional translation of short medical documents and participation in ongoing training to maintain terminology proficiency and service standards. Qualifications
• Strong skills in Medical Interpretation and Interpreting between Spanish and English, with the ability to work effectively in OPI and VRI environments.
• Solid knowledge of Medical Terminology in both Spanish and English, and the ability to use terminology accurately and consistently in clinical contexts.
• Experience with Simultaneous Interpretation and consecutive interpreting techniques, ensuring clear, timely, and neutral communication between all parties.
• Competence in Translation of brief medical and administrative documents when needed, maintaining accuracy and fidelity to source content.
• Fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent listening, speaking, and comprehension skills.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and adherence to confidentiality and privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
• Access to a quiet, professional remote workspace with reliable high-speed internet and suitable audio/video equipment.
• Previous experience as a medical interpreter or relevant certification/training in medical interpreting is highly beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and the ability to remain calm, impartial, and professional in emotionally charged situations.
