Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of incoming supplier quality to ensure materials meet required specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to assess capabilities, define quality expectations, and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust quality control processes for incoming goods.
  • Conduct thorough inspections, audits, and validations for incoming materials and ensure documentation is accurate and compliant.
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues related to incoming materials, partnering with suppliers and internal teams to create corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans.
  • Work closely with the production and manufacturing teams to integrate quality-focused processes and support production goals.
  • Proactively identify risks in supplier processes and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports on supplier quality metrics, performance trends, and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to cross-functional teams regarding supplier quality standards and contribute to internal quality culture.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, standards, and regulations related to supplier quality management.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier quality, process management, or manufacturing quality control.
  • Key Skills: Solid knowledge of quality standards (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc.), quality auditing, risk assessment, and action plan development.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with quality management tools such as FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills to effectively work with suppliers and internal teams of diverse backgrounds.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of identifying process inefficiencies and implementing solutions.
  • Collaboration: Self-motivated and team-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications, such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), are a plus.

Day-to-Day

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with incoming quality requirements.
  • Conduct incoming inspections and audits to validate the quality of materials or products.
  • Identify and address quality concerns, coordinating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Facilitate communication and problem resolution between internal manufacturing teams and suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance using key quality metrics and provide regular feedback.
  • Support the development and roll-out of supplier quality initiatives and training programs.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss production goals, supplier updates, and ongoing quality improvement strategies.
