Job Summary

The Head of Business Intelligence leads the enterprise BI and reporting function, transforming organizational data into reliable insights, dashboards, management reporting, and decision-support tools.

Within Insurance & Investments, the role supports business performance across underwriting, claims, customer analytics, finance, risk, compliance, investment performance, portfolio management, and executive reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute the enterprise Business Intelligence strategy and roadmap.

Lead BI, reporting, data visualization, and management-information functions.

Establish enterprise-wide reporting standards, KPIs, metrics, and data definitions.

Develop executive dashboards and performance-management solutions.

Lead self-service BI and analytics adoption across business functions.

Design and manage:

Enterprise dashboards

Management reports

Operational reporting

Executive reporting

KPI scorecards

Performance analytics

Regulatory reporting solutions

Partner with Data Engineering and IT teams on data warehouses, data lakes, data marts, ETL/ELT, APIs, and data integration.

Ensure BI outputs are based on accurate, consistent, governed, and trusted data.

Establish data-quality and reporting-control processes.

Support advanced analytics and data-science teams with reliable analytical datasets.

Translate business requirements into BI solutions and analytical products.

Identify trends, patterns, opportunities, and performance issues through data analysis.

Lead BI modernization, automation, and migration to cloud-based analytics platforms.

Oversee BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker, or equivalent platforms.

Establish BI governance, access controls, security, and reporting standards.

Ensure reporting supports finance, risk, compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements.

Manage BI vendors, consultants, licenses, budgets, and technology partners.

Lead and develop BI analysts, developers, data analysts, and reporting teams.

Establish BI KPIs, SLAs, delivery standards, and quality controls.

Present key insights and business-performance trends to senior leadership.

Ideal Candidate Profile

10–15+ years in Business Intelligence, analytics, data, reporting, or technology.

5+ years in BI/analytics leadership.

Previous experience as:

VP Analytics

Experience in Insurance, Banking, Investment Management, Asset Management, Wealth Management, or Financial Services preferred.

Strong expertise in:

Business Intelligence

Data visualization

Executive dashboards

KPI/reporting frameworks

Data analytics

Data warehousing

ETL/ELT

Data integration

Data governance

Self-service analytics

Strong knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker, or equivalent BI platforms.

Understanding of SQL, data modelling, dimensional modelling, and analytical data architecture.

Experience working with cloud data platforms and modern BI environments.

Strong understanding of financial-services KPIs and reporting requirements.

Strong stakeholder-management skills across Finance, Risk, Operations, Investments, IT, and executive leadership.

Relevant bachelor's degree; Master's in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, or related discipline is advantageous.
