Org. Setting and Reporting
The temporary position is located within the United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH). Pursuant to Security Council resolution , UNSOH has been mandated to provide support; primarily to the Gang Suppression Force (GSF), the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH), the Haitian National Police (HNP), and the Haitian Armed Forces in the context of any joint operations with the GSF. Additionally, UNSOH is tasked with delivering technical assistance to the Organization of American States (OAS). The Travel Officer is normally responsible for ensuring the smooth arrangements for official travel and transportation for all personnel serving with the field mission and prompt/timely settlement of travel claims. Also responsible for providing updated travel-related information to all mission staff members. Effectively manages and/or supervises the budgets of self-accounting units and controls over the UN property. Supervises travel processing group and deals with more complex cases to assure adherence to UN rules and travel regulations at minimal cost. The temporary position is based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and is located in the Office of the Chief, Operations and Resources Management, Human Resources Section. The incumbent will report to the Chief of Section/Unit, Administrative Services.
