About the role:

The Local Senior IoT Engineer is responsible for implementing MES Smart Factory systems by enabling seamless connectivity between shop floor machines and the Manufacturing Execution System (MES). This includes configuring industrial machines (PLC, HMI, Testing Equipments, Stand-alone Product Printers, Machine interface integration systems) deploying IoT (Internet Of Thnigs) infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with original data (Meta data) and IT network standards. The role also involves working closely with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to implement necessary hardware or firmware changes that enable effective data capture and integration into MES .

Key Responsibilities:   

• Responsible to access and configure factory equipment data interfaces (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus, MT-Connect).
• Support and collaborate with internal IT teams to implement network standards and security protocols.
• Empowered to coordinate with machine OEMs to request, review, and implement hardware/software modifications needed for MES connectivity.
• Recommend and deploy IoT edge devices, sensors, and gateways for data collection and preprocessing.
• Responsible for ensuring machine data mapping aligns with MES data models and requirements
• Modify PLC programs to be able to bring the Meta Data from the process to the MES system to fully digitalize the process information

Skills & Experience:

• 3+ years' experience in IoT Protocols & Communication: OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, TCP/IP, REST APIs.
• MES Integration: Familiarity with standard MES platforms (e.g., Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk, GE Proficy, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience and stills on Industrial Equipment Connectivity: Hands-on experience connecting PLCs, SCADA systems, and other factory equipment.
• OEM Coordination: Experience in working with machine/equipment OEMs to implement data interface upgrades, firmware changes, or additional instrumentation required for MES connectivity.
• Edge Computing: Experience with IoT edge devices, data filtering, and local storage solutions.
• IT Networking: Proficient in configuring VLANs, firewalls, IP address management, and secure data transmission.
• Data Standardization: Experience in implementing ISA-95/IEC 62264, PackML, or similar industrial data models.
• Cybersecurity Awareness: Knowledge of industrial network security, including NAC, encryption, and secure remote access.
• Programming/Scripting: PLC Programming, Python, Node-RED, JavaScript, or other relevant tools for data transformation or integration.
• Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for machine-to-MES communication issues.
• Project Management: Ability to work in cross-functional teams and manage rollout timelines and deliverables.
