Purpose
The Regional Director of Collections Risk Retail & Small Business for the Caribbean is responsible for shaping and executing strategies that optimize recovery performance across multiple jurisdictions, while ensuring alignment with the Bank's risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and customer-centric values. This role demands strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders to drive transformation and operational excellence.

Accountabilities

• Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Define and execute regional collections strategies
• Develop and implement comprehensive collections strategies across eight Caribbean countries, leveraging advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and market intelligence.
• Continuously assess macroeconomic trends, regulatory changes, and portfolio performance to adjust strategies for maximum efficiency and profitability.
• Influence senior leadership to reengineer processes, ensuring alignment with the Bank's strategic objectives and operational standards.
• Oversee the full collections lifecycle
• Manage all stages of the collections process, from pre-delinquency prevention to post-write-off recovery.
• Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives to enhance recovery rates, reduce operational costs, and improve customer experience.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and internal risk frameworks across all jurisdictions.
• Foster a customer-focused culture
• Promote practices that balance risk mitigation with maintaining strong client relationships.
• Leverage the Bank's broader capabilities and systems to deliver sustainable solutions for clients while protecting portfolio quality.
• Embed risk culture and appetite in decision-making
• Ensure all strategies and operational decisions reflect the Bank's risk appetite and adhere to established governance standards.
• Proactively identify emerging risks and implement mitigation plans to safeguard the Bank's interests.
• Build and lead high-performing teams
• Design and execute a people strategy that attracts, retains, and develops top talent in collections and risk

management.

• Foster an inclusive and collaborative work environment, applying coaching principles to enhance team capabilities.
• Manage succession planning and career development initiatives to ensure organizational resilience and continuity.
• Act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner
• Serve as a key advisor to executives and business partners on collections risk matters.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and regulatory authorities to drive collaboration and achieve shared objectives.
• Represent the region in global forums, contributing to policy development and strategic initiatives that impact collections and risk management.

Skills

• Master's degree in Finance, Business, or Risk Management preferred.
• Extensive, hands‑on experience in Collections is essential, designing and leading collections strategies and operations, complemented by exposure to risk management and financial services.
• Expertise in Retail & Small Business credit products and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English).
• The position requires availability for occasional travel, supporting collaboration and alignment across teams.
