Job Title:
Planning Engineer
Responsibilities:
Plan, consolidate and ensure compliance with production programs, as well as reports to support it in order to ensure the efficiency of the production process, meeting the specifications of the orders and established goals. Provides help and assist in all the activities related to the department.

  • Follow up the production process in order to alert the production managers about any threat that impede the production goals.
  • Support the production process by coordinating and handing the production reports to the supervisors.
  • Prepare reports to give status of the production process and goals achievements to the managers; also to keep the system updated with the shipping dates on the orders (ESD`s).
  • Assist Customer service team by giving quick answer about (pre-approved) and (expedites) shipping dates.
  • Plan, schedule and ensure stock plans execution for Stock Components in order to keep the required levels at the warehouse.
  • Attend to production meetings and prepare the metrics necessary previous them.
  • Evaluate and prepare the production plan based on due date, mix profile, cycle time

SPECIFIC TASKS:

  • Notify Purchasing Department when any Stocking Program is plan to keep the inventory level in control.
  • Verify Backlog to prevent work availability in the production process in order to alert and coordinate with the production manager the action to be done.
  • Release Rush/Daily and cut off of the orders to SPI production process.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS:
Note that (i) computer literacy and working-level skill with the basic MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer), (ii) good verbal and written communication skills, (iii) good interpersonal skills, and (iv) the ability to work well both individually and in a team environment are default requirements for all Jostens exempt and salaried nonexempt employees.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or Business Administration/Management.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • 3 + years of experience in similar roles.
  • Advanced Excel.
  • Experience supervising people.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in supply chain
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • AS400 Experience
